Backlog – 08/28/2019

I’m making this post only because I need to hold myself accountable for this messy backlog of mine and to make it into a nice organized list.

In this next month alone Astral Chain, Link’s Awakening, Daemon X Machina, Dragon Quest XI S, and Borderlands 3 are all being released and that’s a lot of games. But you know what else has a lot of games? My backlog.

Right now I’m actively playing Borderlands 2, Final Fantasy VI, and Celeste. I’m actually pretty close to the ending in all three of those, which is pretty good. I would also like to note that I have absolutely no qualms about dropping games that I’m not enjoying, but I at least would like to give all these games a good shot before pulling them off the list.

The list written here is actually much shorter than what my actual backlog list would look like. I’ve left off any co-op games (i.e. Shovel Knight) because those require both parties to be in the mood to play said game. There’s also a fair amount of good games I have access to through Steam’s family sharing that I would like to play as well (i.e. Mass Effect), but since I didn’t pay for them I’ll at least give myself a small pass on that in terms of me buying too many games. Furthermore, I think there are some games I would like to replay, but I don’t think they should be on this list.

I think the biggest offender of this list is Bioshock, which I’ve had downloaded onto my PS3 since the release of Bioshock Infinite. At the time, buying a physical copy of Bioshock Infinite came with a download code for the original Bioshock. That was back in 2013.
