As you can tell, I’m not very good at blogging, but I’m going to try to use this blog as a way to post reviews, thoughts, ramblings, etc. I would like to focus on games (video games, board games, role-playing games) and books, but I’m definitely not ruling out blog posts about my other hobbies.
Here are some things I’d like to write about soon:
- Final Fantasy VI Advanced
- I’m playing FFVI for the first time and so far I really like it. It’s still hard to say if I’ll like it more than FFIX by the end, but I guess I’ll find out soon enough. Currently, I’m right outside of the opera house, so I expect to hit the famous opera scene pretty soon.
- A Quiet Life in the Country by T. E. Kinsey
- This is a nice little cozy mystery book, which is a sub-genre I only learned about a bit before starting this book. To be honest, I didn’t even know that Agatha’s Miss Marple series was considered cozies. I’m enjoying the book so far, and I just generally like this kind of detective fiction as a whole.
- Some Marvel comics
- I recently got Marvel Unlimited, so I now have access to a whole lot of comics. If I find ones that I feel like I would like to write about, then those will definitely show up on this blog.
- Arkham Horror: The Card Game
- I picked this up last Friday. I liked the general mood and aesthetic of Arkham Horror a lot but I also remember it being very slow and complicated, so the card game seems like something that I’d enjoy. I haven’t actually even read the rule-book yet and I’m quite slow at playing board games so we’ll see if this post ever comes to fruition.
I was thinking that trying to write twice a month would be a pretty good blogging schedule, but I’m not entirely sure I consume media fast enough to follow through with that.
Hey! Welcome to the world of video game blogging. Setting a pace for yourself is a great idea. Burnout sucks. It’s nice to meet a fellow lady gamer too. I look forward to your posts.
I highly recommend getting involved in the video game blogging community. It’s smallish but super supportive and helpful. Geek Blogs United on facebook is a great place to start. 🙂
